Call Recording Feature of Google Phone Added to Some Xiaomi Devices

According to what Xiaomi users shared on the forums, the call recording feature of Google Phone has been added to some devices of the Chinese brand. It is not yet clear when the feature that can be used in some Redmi models will be added to other Xiaomi devices.

Google, recently announced that Pixel devices will increase the number of Android devices that support Google Phone, the default dialer application. The company, which continues to increase the number of devices supporting the application, is also working on call recording support in the Phone application.

The first rumors that Google is working on the call recording feature surfaced last January. As expected, several Nokia devices that were first added to the Google Pixel series and then part of the Android One project also got this feature. Now it has been revealed that some Xiaomi users can use the call recording feature of the Phone application.

According to the information transmitted by PiunikaWeb, the call recording feature in the Google Phone app is currently available in global variants of Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro smartphones. However, the Mi A series, which uses Android One instead of MIUI, also got this feature in the past months.

In fact, Xiaomi has been offering call recording feature to its users in China, India and Indonesia region for a long time via MIUI. However, this feature was not included in the devices sold in Europe and the rest of the regions. We can say that the reason for this is that global devices come with Google’s Dialer and Contacts application by default.

If we look at what is written on Xiaomi forums, the call recording feature is currently available on many different Xiaomi devices, but it is currently unknown whether the feature is available on a large scale or if Google is still in the trial phase. Therefore, if the feature is not available on your device yet, you may need to wait a little longer. We will continue to inform you if new details are revealed on the subject.
